World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day

10 October 2001

This is the second year of the theme Mental Health and Work which was carried over from 2000 to allow more time to examine issues which affect not only workers but people who are unemployed, and the families of both.

A new World Mental Health Day planning kit has been sent out to organizations on the special mailing list for this project, and all of the material has also been posted on the WFMH web site at www.wfmh.org

The planning kit takes up where last years edition left off, with sections on the impact of mental illness in the workplace and the cost to employers, on the reintegration of those who have experienced mental illness into the work force, and on the importance of work to consumers.

Planning kits are still available from the Secretariat in English, French and Spanish. The Arabic version is being distributed in the Middle East.
