Vancouver
Planning for future World Congresses was carried forward at meetings in Chile. The next Congress will be held in Vancouver, Canada, from 22- 27 July 2001. Edward Pennington, director of the Canadian Mental Health Association, represented the organizing committee in Chile and gave reports to both the Board and the Membership Assembly. Melbourne
The Congress in 2003 will be held in Melbourne, Australia, on 23-28 February. The organizers are Prof. Graham Burrows, AO, KSJ, and Megan McQueenie, Executive Director of the Mental Health Foundation of Australia. Brian I’Anson, a board member of the Mental Health Foundation, gave the Board an update on progress with arrangements. The planners are already developing the outlines of the program and welcome early contacts for inclusion in the mailing list:

Cairo
At its meeting in Santiago the WFMH Board selected Cairo as the site of the 2005 World Congress. President Ahmed El Azayem proposed a meeting which will reflect Egypt’s geographic position by including issues which affect Mediterranean countries as well as the Middle East, and also matters of concern in Africa.
