A volume on “Mental Health Japan” has been published in celebration of the60th birthday of Kunihiko Asai, former Honorary Secretary of the WFMH Boardmember and organizer of the memorable World Congress in Makuhari, Chiba.The book is in English and aims to provide an overview of mental health careand psychiatry in Japan for other countries. It brings together articleswritten by Dr. Asai over the last twenty years, ending with a paper on newmental health and welfare law and recent mental health policy prepared forthe WHO Shanghai Symposium in November 1999.
