The organizing committee, in recognition of WFMHs 50th Anniversary, has focused on the importance of acknowledging the activities and adjustments of the half century since 1948, acceptingthe challenges and opportunities of todays world, and planning for the start of the next fifty years. Aserious review of past developments is intended to set the stage for an examination of current trendsand future prospects. The program will follow a number of interwoven themes: Autonomy,Boundaries, Constraint, Discrimination, Exclusion and Focus. Throughout the conference delegateswill find both a European and a Scottish dimension, and the Edinburgh setting permits the organizersto offer an attractive choice of social events to supplement the main program.
