Prevention of Substance Abuse in the Middle East

In the Middle East, prevention related to substance abuse is a key area in the program of the Federation’s Eastern Mediterranean Regional Council and the closely allied WFMH Committee for the Prevention of Substance Abuse, based in Cairo. This Council and Committee have developed many initiatives in Egypt and they also work with other organizations in the Arab world. The Committee supports training for primary care physicians and social workers, and the formation of self-help groups.
