Brief Overview of Silver Ribbon (Singapore)
Silver Ribbon (Singapore) is a non-profit organization launched by President S R Nathan of Singapore on 4 Feb 2006 to combat mental health stigma and encourage early treatment. We are also a proud affiliated member organization of World Federation for Mental Health.
Since launched, we have been working closely policymakers, members of parliaments, local and overseas mental health professionals, judges of Subordinate Court, representatives of mental health organisations, patients, caregivers, grassroots leaders, religious leaders, teachers, students, etc, reaching out to the community through innovative means.
We are the FIRST mental health organization in Singapore to connect everyone through FACEBOOK. To date, we have launched the FIRST Stamp Out Stigma Mental Health Carnival, FIRST song writing competition on mental issues, FIRST Silver Ribbon Rock Gig, FIRST Silver Ribbon Film Festival, FIRST Musical Production, FIRST Stamp Out Stigma Graphic Art Competition, FIRST Wellness Studio to promote positive mental health, and more.
