WFMH DISASTER RESPONSE INITIATIVE “REMEMBER THE CHILDREN” FUND WFMH became active in addressing the mental health consequences of disasters in the aftermath of the December 2004 Indian Ocean Earthquake and Tsunami. Since that time, the WFMH Disaster Response Initiative has continued to develop strategies for supporting its grassroots member organizations working in disaster situations. One of the important issues in any disaster, whether manmade or natural, is paying attention to the mental and emotional health needs of affected children. The WFMH Disaster Response Initiative includes a special fund appeal “The Remember The Children Fund.” Any donations made to this fund are used to assist grassroots organizations working on mental health issues of children in disaster situations. If you would like to support this project, please send contributions to the WFMH Secretariat with a note specifying the Remember the Children’s Fund. Thank you for your generosity.
